Aaaahhhhh, this dish!!!! Grain-free turkey meatballs & spaghetti squash. A killer combo. Add in the best tomato sauce ever and…voila…you’ve got a masterpiece of healthy goodness and deliciousness.

These paleo grain-free turkey meatballs are moist, yummy and easy to make — and a great way to get kids involved in the kitchen (mini-rolling people).

Using spaghetti squash as a substitute for pasta is fun and a great way to pack in extra veggies. Think fibre. Think nutrients. Think all the things white pasta doesn’t have… It’s also very easy to make. As easy to make as pasta. So…there you go. TRY IT.

  • 1. FOR SPAGHETTI SQUASH: Cut squash in two
  • 2. Scoop out seeds with an ice cream scoop
  • 3. Place cut-side down in a glass baking tray
  • 4. Pour 1/2-inch of water into tray
  • 5. Bake 400 F until soft (depending on size) - anywhere from 30 - 60 minutes
  • 6. Remove from oven and let cool a few minutes
  • 7. Using a fork, shred the inside of the squash until it resembles spaghetti
  • 8. Season with salt and pepper
  • 9. Eat with your favourite sauce OR saute a bit in a pan with olive oil and butter, some garlic then top with parmesan. (You can also do this in a slow cooker.)
  • 10. FOR MEATBALLS: Combine the meatball ingredients. Mix really well - using your hands.
  • 11. Form several 2-inch balls and placed on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • 12. Bake in the oven at 400 F for 15 - 20 minutes. When browned remove from the oven.
  • 13. As you are heating up the sauce add meatballs to warm them up and merge flavours.
